Zambia Metrology Agency to  Award  Product Quality  vigilant Journalists ,Nkoben

Zambia Metrology Agency (ZMA) Executive Director Humphrey Nkoben has  challenged media and individual journalists to be observant  with quality of products ,goods and services in Zambia  in an effort to establish  partnership   with his organization 

.


Speaking during the media breakfast on 21st February 2024 at Taj Pamodzi hotel ,Lusaka  during the presentation of the accomplishments and advancements achieved in the year 2023,Nkoben said  Metrologic Agency will recognize media practitioners who will go beyond headline journalism   to show  essential role it plays in commerce ,transactions ,health safety and environmental management.

The Zambia Metrology Agency  Executive Director  who was flanked by Elijah Mhamba chairperson of the board development and public affairs committee of the 5th board of Zambia Metrology Agency  and  Dr.Micheal Nsefu said his organization is looking for excellency in journalism that will bridge the gap on metrology  information in the country .

“our organization alone can’t manage to be everywhere and  be observant we need another pair of eyes to be vigilant this is mammoth task   for ZMA alone Zambia is quite vast and many businesses are coming up”, Nkoben stressed .

In 2023 the agaency undertook 51,708 status verifications or certification of measurements instruments  for accuracy and reliability  a significant increase from the 37,780 verification in the previous year,the local production of high quality services for sustainable economy development.

Furthermore the  agency  continued to provide calibrated services to promote accurate and precise measurements in  industries and laboratories with over 3,300 measuring instruments in the year 2023.
