Partnership Key  to Promoting Democracy and Human Rights ,Meral Karan

USIAD  Director of Democracy ,Human Rights and Governance ,Meral Karan  says the key to Zambia’s economic growth ,agriculture and trade education , health   and Democracy  is the seamless partnership with civil society and the private sector .

Speaking during the launch of the Multi-Stakeholder Initiative (MSI) on 28th March 2024 at Taj Pamodzi hotel , Karen  said putting heads together would help implement locally –led solutions to development challenges that are impeding Zambia’s economic growth .

“you will notice that the key priorities identified  by the three sectors are interlinked .for instance ,civil society organizations and private sectors both want to be more  involved in improving the legal and regulatory frame woks .advancing technology to promote democracy and human rights ,enhancing digital literacy and inclusion ,and safeguard the the digital environment in Zambia ,” Karen  explained ,

Karen said the Multi-Stakeholder initiative being launched is a strategic collaborative effort to leverage technology to promote democracy and human rights .

The USAID Director of Democracy Human and Governance hailed the Zambian government led president Hakainde Hichilema and the public private Dialogue forum    for contributing to the development of the multi stakeholder initiative .

The have flagged of concerns on mobile fraud ,and identified digital inclusion ,encouraging local tech innovation and promoting the affordability of digital technologies as key priorities ,
