Retirees Can Be Productive ,Not Liabilities, Cyprian Mayamba

 National Productivity Development Department Director Cyprian Mayamba  says OLDER PEOPLE  must not be relegated to liabilities in the community but ,persons with potential ,skill and experience  to enhance productivity in the economy of the nation .

Speaking during Stakeholder dissemination on the research finding of older it incumbent upon stakeholders of the dissemination on the research on policy mapping for enhancing the productive capacity of older people on 15th March 2024 at Taj Pamodzi hotel ,Lusaka.

“being retired does  not renders us to liabilities in society ,but we have potential to be productive and contribute to the growth of  national economy ,leadership in history and culture preservation,”Mayamba stressed.

The National Productive Development Director who was flanked by United Nations (UN) Representative   Jessica Petitprez  said the youth and middle aged will someday “get over the hill,”over the age of 60 years towards retirement and hence must learn to be inclusive.

Mr.Mayamba cited the Support to Older person in Zambia (STOP) Zambia.which  is led by young people advocating the plight of older people.
