Translate Mental Health Findings To Practice ,Dr.Walubita

Ministry of
Health Clinical Care and Diagnostic Service Director Dr.Lisulo Walubita says un
addressed mental health problems especially among adolescents and young adults
,affect their desire to education and
ability to keep a job resulting in
denying society of their talents and creativity.
Speaking
during the p Official opening of the Evidence Based Interventions for Scaling
Up Mental Health Care in Zambia on 20th February 2024at Taj Pamodzi
hotel ,Lusaka he said un treated individuals with mental health problems
,remain at risk of developing more severe and long term health conditions
turning to substance or alcohol abuse as way of coping with their problems.

lubita who congratulated institutions that collaborated to implement the research namely; the Center for infectious Diseases Research in Zambia (CIRDZ) ,the University Teaching Hospital Zambia(UTH) ,John Hopkins University and Columbia university ,urged them to translate their findings in to practice .
“ I now urge
each one of us to further disseminate the information we will receive beyond
this meeting ,the challenge here now is to turn these findings in to practice,”
he appealed .
And John
Hopkins University Senior Scientist Clinical Psychologist Dr.Laura Murray who made power point presentation and video on
successful rehabilitating mental health male individual who use to spend lots of money
on alcohol to escape from reality at the expense of buying food for the family
and wife said CETA is
pioneering the integration of mental behavioral health into HIV care ,effectiveness of in-person and
telephone CETA for adolescent and young adults .
