Empower Women to Create National Wealth ,prods Teresa Kambole

Teresa HEART Foundation founder Teresa Manga Kambole says women are susceptible to  Gender Based (GBV) if not empowered and that investing  in  them would result in the nation growing its gross domestic product (GDP) .



Speaking during panel discussion as the world  observe 16 days of gender activism in month of December 2023 at the Young Men  Christian Association (YMCA) Symposium , Lusaka Life coach Teresa said men and boys must  be incorporated in the empowerment cycle  according to the 2023 theme; Unite ,Invest to Prevent Violence Against Women and girls.

“gender based violence is more pronounced in women and girls due to economic aspects of life that exposes them vulnerability. as we speak now many girls have left school  after writing their final 2023 GEC  grade 12 exams and  others  who are job hunting are ready to take on any odd jobs  and trying to set up business to make ends meet, “ 

And United Party for National Development UPND representative Aswell  Mwalimu   at the Zambia Young Men Christian Association (YMCA) Symposium defended t


he president Hakainde Hichilema administration from assertions that the ministry of Gender has been abolished.


Mwalimu said the government knows that  youths  regardless of gender are vulnerable in society and that they can be lured with money by politicians and anyone  with influence society and used as tools of violence and other illegal activities .

Mwalimu said government is trying to incorporate as many entities as possible to supplement government efforts to address gender issues so that they equal opportunities for both girls and boys as they  matured to adult hood.
