Supplement CDF with State Farms

(LM) Secretary General Jairos Ngoma has implored UPND government to cushion
young people and the ten provinces with state farms that will employ many
people through agriculture and food security as they are succeeding with the constituency development funds(CDF).

speaking during the Burning Issue radio program on 5 FM on Thursday 1st June 2023 hosted by Zachariah Banda, Ngoma said Zambian leaders must put their priorities first and that some of the resources meant for constituency development funds (CDF) must be channeled to agriculture and food security.

President Hakainde Hichilema should give a task to every member of parliament (MP)
to ensure their constituency produce a substantial amount of agriculture products and live stock , maize
among the prioritized.
“reintroducing state farms is the answer to mealie meal
shortages the nation encountered 2
months ago some monies meant for CDF should be allocated to food production ,
we don’t to see Zambians lining up for mealie meal, we don’t want history to
repeat itself like what happened in the late 1980s ,some marriages are on the
rocks due to lack of food, “he stressed.
He said his party lead by Dr.Richard Silumbe will always support projects that enhance food production as well as empowering local power with land as inheritance with title deeds documents serving as tickets for acquiring fertilizer and other agriculture implements from the government and other stakeholders .
Asked by Burning Issue radio program host called Zack host if agriculture is the only way to
develop the nation, Ngoma responded that providing computers and desks in
school is a good idea and the that best intention is to feed the young people to avoid
malnutrition and help them think well as
they embark on building state farms inconjuction with the Zambia National
service(ZNS).
