Empower Girl Child Support   Rugby Tournament in Large Numbers ,Zambia Breweries

Zambia Breweries head of Marketing Thelma Kaunga says the beverage company  want to nature other disciplines of sports  and   has appealed to Zambians to turn up in large numbers at the 10 nations pre-qualifiers  tournament hosted by Zambia at the show grounds from 1st July to 2nd July 2023.

aking during  the cheque presentation  ceremony hosted by the Minister of Sports ,Youth and Arts Elvis Nkandu  where Zambia breweries  donated K620,000 to Zambia rugby Union 7 sevens at Government complex in Lusaka 22nd June 2023  , Kaunga said sports is one of the ways to empower the girl child and  creating  employment .

“we are marketers and as Zambia Breweries we want to help athletes to market and put Zambia on world map earlier we  supported the Zambian Super League soccer, the men’s rugby tournament earlier and this time around is the women’s 7s tournament our aim is to nature other sports disciplines ,there are no minor sports with Zambia Breweries,” the head of marketing explained.

And the minister of youth,sports and Arts Elvis Nkandu said the Zambian girls must take advantage of playing at home to emerge winners at the tournament and the New Dawn government has provided an enabling environment for sports to thrive and become a career.

He said sports is a tool to alleviate poverty among youths and create employment since athletics has become a full career the world over .

Nkandu told the media that the corporate society has confidence in the New Dawn Administration ,hence they are coming in to support and that Zambia Breweries is leading the way.

“this Zambrew we know , they have been supporting sports since time immemorial , they used to sponsor national soccer tournaments and other sports disciplines , they have contributed to building the Zambian sports history,” Nkandu commended . 



The event will see the top 3 teams out the ten qualify for Africa women’s sevens Paris Olympics games 2024 final qualifiers in Tunisia.
