All Zambians Must Become Farmers Siulapwa, Still Singing

By Ashton Kelly Bunda

New Generation  Party President Humphrey Siulapwa has urged government to persuade all Zambian citizens to ignite an  agriculture Revolution by becoming farmers regardless of age ,creed , class and career to create a food exporting nation .

Speaking during a weekly press briefing on Sunday 21st May 2023 at ZAMCOM lodge Siulapwa said the Mealie Meal shortages that rocked  the  nation 2 months ago must become a learning cave for Zambians  to impose themselves and start competing globally in the  agriculture and livestock sector since the nation is endowed with more that 40 percent of water sources ,arable land and fairly good weather.

“all Zambians must aim at producing 20 million metric tones of maize put together  in the next 10 years to over come Mealie Meal shortages as well as increasing agriculture exports to strengthen the Kwacha currency , almost every Zambian should strive to produce 5 bags of maize , I have friends from China who are looking for 12 million tones of Soya beans ,but we found was little in Zambia “Siulapwa lamented.

The determined looking New Generation Party president said the the agriculture revolution is only answer to mass production of at least one hundred million metric tones of food every year that will satisfy all populations South of the equator .

Siulapwa referred to USA and Chinise economies growth due to mass production and that USA produce 100 million metric tones of maize every.

Siulapwa concluded with the idea of incorporating the Zambia National Service (ZNS) farm college that must be established to support the nation in any way by training young people attain associate degree level to learn to grow their own food.
