Minister of Health Sylvia Masebo has disclosed in her Christmas massage that the new dawn government led by Hakainde Hichilema injunction with corporate partners  will expand all district hospitals and replenished  them with qualified health staff according to their respective departments as their pursuit of prioritizing education and health.

Speaking after she delivered Christmas hampers to mothers of the  six Christmas babies and tour of the Chongwe district hospital following visitation to Ms.Masebo said populations are increasing in the area and that some patients brought in the facility come from as far as Rufunsa district.

The female member of parliament who sang a rendition of a popular Christmas carol ‘Joy to the world’ while serving a Christmas  cake to  mothers with news babies ,  told the Bundas Incorporated Blog spot that many people are coming to settle in Chongwe due to arable land for farming  and that wards that were designed for a population of the 1970s are small not enough in the current situation.

“we want to decongest hospitals in all the provinces  the country we have discovered that some of the health centers that have been upgraded to higher levels do not have appropriate staff in their respective departments, hence the need to decentralize so that referrals of serious cases are handled by qualified medical personnel apart from UTH and Levy Mwanawasa hospital in Lusaka,” Masebo explained.

Health minister who was flanked by Chongwe district hospital nursing officer Musaidah Mwale Dr,Prince Sakuhuka and Dr.Mweene Nseluke, commended the efforts of Chongwe health workers despite many challenges they face in their line of duty.
