babies and tour of the Chongwe district hospital following visitation to Ms.Masebo
said populations are increasing in the area and that some patients brought in
the facility come from as far as Rufunsa district.
The female member of parliament
who sang a rendition of a popular Christmas carol ‘Joy to the world’ while
serving a Christmas cake to mothers with news babies , told the Bundas Incorporated Blog spot that many people are coming
to settle in Chongwe due to arable land for farming and that wards that were designed for a
population of the 1970s are small not enough in the current situation.
“we want to decongest hospitals
in all the provinces the country we have
discovered that some of the health centers that have been upgraded to higher
levels do not have appropriate staff in their respective departments, hence the
need to decentralize so that referrals of serious cases are handled by
qualified medical personnel apart from UTH and Levy Mwanawasa hospital in
Lusaka,” Masebo explained.
Health minister who was flanked
by Chongwe district hospital nursing officer Musaidah Mwale Dr,Prince Sakuhuka
and Dr.Mweene Nseluke, commended the efforts of Chongwe health workers despite
