Legendary Artistic Journalist Ashton Kelly Bunda Happy Birthday

He is almost self-taught and disciplined in the same breath since he studied    journalism through distance education from Central African correspondence College (CACC) that hails from Zimbabwe and  he was introduced  to the music instrument  harmonica  at the age 11years .

Bunda  who kicked off his journalism career as  foot soldier  in  the year 1998 at the National Mirror Newspaper in Lusaka  clocks a  year older and wiser on Monday, 31st January, 2022 is high  achiever as  ‘An Early  Bird Catch  A Worm’  by campaigning  for the National Sports Day (NSD) and  Zambia Sports Day (ZSD) in the year 2006, and is hopeful of this initiative winning Sport, Youth and Art Minister, Mr. Elvis Chishala Nkandu.

This Ashton Kelly Bunda Legacy Trail, also known as Bak2Bak by peers and sports administrators,  continued in the year 2010 on the Copperbelt  Province, precisely Luanshya, a mining town popularized by Roan United Football Club,  when  he   came-up with BUNDAS League Zambia (BLZ), whose profile was written in the then  District Commissioner  Mr. Michael Tandeo that would be the sister league the German Bundes Liga  supporting the  campaign against racism by Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) President Joseph Sepp Blatter  and  spearheaded  the introduction of the first Sports Museum  to named after him  and applied that the sports museum be named after him for enduring and long serving journalist for 23 years to Ministry of Tourism and Arts, Mr. Charles Romel Banda in 2015 and applied for the second that the museum be named after him in 2018 when the ministry of tourism was led by current Ronald Chitotela.

For years, Bunda  till now works for Pan African Radio 96.1FM, and is a senior story contributor to Rainbow Newspaper Zambia Limited, and Zambian Children Young People and Women in Development (ZCYPWD) Kwilanzi Newspaper Zambia (KNZ)  realized a Sports Musical Jingle (SMJ)  Stepping Stone’ recorded by  Elijah Marko Tembo  he was accompanied by singer Dee Jay Favor  from Pan African Radio and musician Rex Stepping Stone Sports Jingle  is still held by Tembo  since  2014 and in 2016 he  realized another sports musical ‘Back Page’ recoded by DJ Genesis  and  guitarist Gordon  Hoarson.
